This month we’re dreaming of warmer days and helping you get your vacation home spring break ready. As part of our series on building the “coastal living” look, we’re highlighting some of our favorite pieces. Following up on our recent post about some of the choices in outdoor furniture, we’re going to help you bring the comfort of the indoors to your deck or patio.
It’s been said that outdoor is the new indoor. These days there’s no need to skimp on style and comfort when putting together outdoor lounge spaces. As a matter of fact, we’d argue that your deck needs more than just comfortable seating. To really deliver the coastal style, you need to incorporate occasional tables, fantastic throws, accessories and even rugs.
No time to take advantage of our special promotion for a design consultation to plan your own deck? Here’s an idea for an outdoor room that could work with your space. (And yes, the special discounted pricing still applies. Lucky you!)
This outdoor room uses natural materials to play off the organic setting at the beach or lake. It also brings cheer to your deck with bold blues and oranges. We would pair Lee Industry’s Oleander Outdoor Sofa, upholstered in Sunbrella Fabric’s Frquency Sand with two Toulon Chat Chairs from Tropitone’s Moda line. For the chairs, combine the natural Frquency Sand on the seat and back with a bold orange and white geometric pattern, also from Sunbrella. Add blues to the look with patterned outdoor safe throw pillows from Surya (for the sofa) and a Lee Industries Medicine Ball Ottoman (extra seating) in Sunbrella Bubble Nautical.
We’d place Sunset West’s contemporary La Jolla coffee table in the center of the room. A garden stool from Emissary Home & Garden adds a pop of color while their fun ceramic fish sculpture is a great decorative accent placed on the coffee table. Tie the whole outdoor look together with the all weather Alfresco rug from Surya and you have an outdoor lounge to rival your indoor living room.
